Represent Masquerade (18+) with maturity, discretion, and composure at all times.
Maintain confidentiality around internal matters, member information, and staff decisions.
Treat members — and each other — with steady respect, even during disagreements.
Lead by example; your tone becomes the model for the entire community.
Avoid power-tripping or favoritism; fairness is the hallmark of a true Host.
Masquerade staff speak with:
Calm confidence
Clarity without harshness
Elegance without arrogance
Directness without hostility
Avoid: sarcasm, snappiness, chaotic energy, or sexual/flirty tones toward members.
Always aim to de-escalate:
Lower the temperature, not raise it
Redirect publicly; resolve privately
Use gentle firmness when correcting behavior
When unsure, pause and ask an Admin
Stay visibly active — even light conversation helps maintain warmth and presence.
Welcome new guests with sincerity; make the space feel alive and intentional.
Encourage participation in events, games, and discussions.
Bring ideas to the team, but discuss concerns privately with Admins.
Enforce rules calmly, consistently, and without emotion.
Never moderate while upset — hand off to another staff member if needed.
Move conflicts out of public channels as soon as possible.
Document serious incidents clearly for Admin review.
If you’re uncertain or uncomfortable, escalate — you are never expected to handle everything alone.
Do not act as a member’s therapist or emotional caretaker.
Do not get pulled into personal drama.
Avoid moderating situations involving your close friends — pass it to another staff member.
Maintain a healthy distance: friendly, not enmeshed.
Use staff channels for planning and discussions.
Never argue or contradict another staff member publicly.
If you disagree with a decision, handle it privately and respectfully.
Notify an Admin if you’ll be inactive or unavailable for an extended time.
