Achievements

Tokens are achievement badges — small, permanent flex items that mark how someone participates in Masquerade. They’re awarded automatically when a member hits certain milestones (messages, threads, engagement, etc.). Tokens are not purchasable, and staff can not manually grant them.

Earned through achievements, interactions, events, or unique circumstances.

Specialty Masks include:

• Staff masks

• Event prizes

• Challenge rewards

• Hangry Games rewards

• Role-based masks (e.g., Brainiac, Mic, Streamer)

• Seasonal or limited-edition masks

Staff Notes:

• Some are one-time-only (e.g., a member cannot earn a second first-win prize)

• Limited-edition masks return only for their specific holiday or event

• Specialty Masks should be awarded consistently with the rules for each activity

These masks are designed to feel earned, special, and memorable — they’re part of what gives Masquerade its flavor and identity.

Masquerade’s XP masks are designed to feel more meaningful than standard level roles. Instead of simple numbers, each mask marks a stage in a member’s journey — growing, rising, and evolving as they participate in the server.

Each mask has its own unique artwork and color theme that reflects the progression. For members who look closely, the masks also include a small line of hidden lore. It’s not something we promote or explain outright; it’s just a subtle detail for anyone curious enough to notice. Most will miss it entirely. Others may piece together something more.

Staff don’t need to guide members toward this or point anything out — it’s simply there as a quiet touch of world-building to make the collection feel special, collectible, and distinctly “Masquerade.”
