Any statement suggesting suicidal thoughts, self-harm, deep emotional distress, or desire to disappear.

How do I identify it?

• Direct statements about wanting to hurt themselves

• Indirect hints that sound hopeless or alarming

• “Jokes” about killing themselves or disappearing

• Sudden emotional shifts, crisis language, or despair

Examples:

• “I don’t want to be alive anymore.”

• “I’m done, I can’t do this.”

• “I’m gonna kms lol” (jokes count)

• “I might as well hurt myself tonight.”

What is the best thing I can do to help?

• Stay calm, acknowledge the concern, and respond gently.

• Direct them to professional hotlines/resources — do NOT give advice.

• Move the conversation to a private space or ticket.

• Notify an Admin immediately.

What is it?

Any media shared without the permission of the person in it — including revenge porn, hidden recordings, or reposted images.

How do I identify it?

• Someone claims an image wasn’t consensual

• Photos where the subject appears unaware

• Ex content involving ex-partners

• Screenshots or clips from private DMs

Examples:

• “My ex sent me this pic, what do y’all think?”

• Posting someone’s image “as a joke”

• Sharing old photos from a past relationship

• Uploading photos of someone taken secretly

What is the best thing I can do to help?

• Remove the content immediately.

• Move the conversation into a ticket to protect privacy.

• Save only message links as evidence — no downloads.

• Escalate to Admins right away.

What is it?

Any hint that a user might be under 18 — whether said seriously, jokingly, or discovered through verification.

How do I identify it?

• Jokes about being underage

• “I’m nearly 18” or “Don’t ban me, I’m only 17 lol”

• Very youthful selfies or voices

• Reports from other members

• Verification photos that look altered or too young

Examples:

• “I’m actually 17 but turn 18 next month.”

• “Omg I’m such a baby, I’m only 16 haha”

• A selfie that clearly looks under 18

• “They told me in DMs they’re 17.”

What is the best thing I can do to help?

• Act immediately — underage concerns are urgent.

• Remove the user or restrict access.

• Alert Admins at once.

• Do not debate, argue, or request repeated photos.

What is it?

Posting someone’s real-world, private information without consent, or threatening to reveal it.

How do I identify it?

• Messages containing real names, addresses, phone numbers, etc.

• Threats like “I know where you live.”

• Screenshots showing private info

• Attempts to expose someone’s identity

Examples:

• Posting someone’s address or workplace

• “Here’s his full name; he’s from Chicago.”

• Leaking someone’s phone number

• “I’ll leak your info if you keep talking.”

What is the best thing I can do to help?

• Delete the content instantly.

• Inform the affected member if necessary.

• Gather message links.

• Escalate to Admins — doxxing is severe and non-negotiable.

What is it?

Unwanted contact, pressure, manipulation, sexual harassment, or repeated messaging after being told to stop.

How do I identify it?

• Members reporting someone won’t leave them alone

• Guilt-tripping or demanding attention

• Sexual advances after refusal

• Alt accounts contacting someone who blocked them

Examples:

• “Why aren’t you answering me? I know you’re online.”

• Sending multiple sexual messages after being declined

• Following someone to other servers

• Messaging from an alt after being blocked

What is the best thing I can do to help?

• Ask the reporting member for message links.

• Move it into a ticket for privacy.

• Reassure them and explain next steps.

• Escalate if the behavior is severe or repeated.

What is it?

Language targeting protected characteristics with slurs, demeaning comments, or extremist content — even “as jokes.”

How do I identify it?

• Obvious or censored slurs

• Degrading statements about identity

• Extremist symbols or jokes

• Using medical status (HIV, disability) as an insult

Examples:

• Racial or homophobic slurs (even censored: “fg,” “trnny”)

• “People like you shouldn’t exist.”

• Nazi jokes

• Mocking someone’s hiv status

What is the best thing I can do to help?

• Remove content immediately.

• Speak firmly but calmly.

• Move discussion out of public channels.

• Escalate based on severity — often a ban-level offense.

What is it?

Posting sexual, nude, graphic, or fetish content in non-NSFW channels.

How do I identify it?

• Nudity

• Sexual language or descriptions

• Porn clips

• Fetish posts or images

• Sexual RP or explicit flirting in SFW chat

Examples:

• Posting explicit photos in lounge channels

• Linking porn in voice text chats

• Sexual memes in SFW spaces

• Describing explicit acts in normal conversation

What is the best thing I can do to help?

• Remove the post quickly.

• Remind the member where NSFW belongs.

• Offer guidance without shaming.

• If repeated, escalate or warn accordingly.

• Remove harmful or rule-breaking content as soon as you see it.

• Do not wait for context, explanation, or a second opinion.

• Priority is always community safety and Discord ToS compliance.

• Respond with clarity, not emotion.

• Avoid arguing, moralizing, or expressing personal frustration.

• Use short, directive phrasing:

  • “This content isn’t allowed here. I’m removing it.”

  • “We need to pause and move this to a ticket.”

  • “For safety reasons, I’m intervening.”

Your tone should feel steady, controlled, and confident.

Before taking action on a user, capture what’s needed:

• Copy message links

• Take screenshots (only when appropriate)

• Save user IDs

• Log timestamps

Do not download explicit content unless reporting is required.

Do not save non-consensual or underage imagery—capture links only.

Depending on severity:

Warn (low-risk)

• First-time accidental NSFW mispost

• Minor channel confusion

Timeout / Temp Restriction (medium-risk)

• Aggressive behavior

• Hate speech “jokes” (non-slur but harmful)

• Persistent rule-breaking

Kick or Soft Remove (verification or safety concerns)

• Unverified user acting suspicious

• User refusing to cooperate in a safety issue

Ban (high-risk)

• Underage

• Non-consensual content

• Hate speech / slurs

• Doxxing

• Stalking / threats

• Revenge porn

• Anything illegal

When in doubt → remove first, escalate to Admin.

Never handle serious cases in public chat.

• Open a ticket on behalf of the member if needed

• Move witnesses or reporters into private conversation

• Keep everything documented neatly for Admins

This prevents drama and protects privacy.

Admins must always be informed of:

• Underage cases

• Non-consensual content

• Self-harm mentions

• Doxxing

• Stalking

• Anything illegal

• Members threatening staff

• Complex conflicts involving multiple people

• Any situation where you feel uncomfortable or unsure

If you’re unsure → it is an Admin issue.

For emotional or intense situations:

• Acknowledge the concern

• Direct the member to the proper resources

• Stay within your boundaries

• Do not offer mental health advice

• Do not make promises or guarantees

Your role is stability, not therapy.

Good documentation protects the Staff team:

• Summary of what happened

• What actions you took

• Evidence links

• Remaining concerns

• Whether further monitoring is needed

Keep it short, accurate, and private.

Admins or staff may need to:

• Monitor a member quietly

• Prepare for repeat behavior

• Provide additional warnings

• Check in with the reporter (if applicable)

This ensures nothing slips through the cracks.
